Preparation
Chop the dates, soak in 5 tbsps of water and add the soda bi-carb. Allow it to stand overnight or for at least 4 hours. Sieve the flour and the baking powder. Mix the oil, butter and sugar well until light and creamy. Add the eggs one at a time and beat well. Add the vanilla essence. Mix the dates and walnut together and add to the flour. Grease a baking dish and pour the mixture in it. Bake in oven at 180 deg C for 45 minutes.
Cool and serve with sweetened cream. |
